Jamshedpur: Japan tops medal tally with 24 medals in IFSC Asian Youth Sport Climbing Championship

TSAF climber Joga Purty sets national record, bags silver medal in speed climbing

Jamshedpur, Nov 17: The fourth and final day of the IFSC Asian Youth Sport Climbing Championship 2024, organised by Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) Sport Climbing Academy in association with the IFSC Asia Council and the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), was a spectacle of excitement and athletic excellence. Athletes from 13 Asian nations went head-to-head in the adrenaline-packed speed climbing events, delivering electrifying performances. The day celebrated remarkable feats of skill and determination, underlining the rapid growth of sport climbing and the emergence of exceptional talent across the Asian region.

The speed climbing awards were presented to the athletes by Ruchi Narendran, Chief guest of closing ceremony, Chanakya Chaudhary – Vice President of Corporate Services Tata Steel, and Abhijit Avinash Nanoti, Managing Director of JCAPCPL, grassroots development partner of TSAF sport climbing academy, Hemant Gupta, Managing Trustee, Tata Steel Adventure Foundation & Head Sports Academies and Adventure Programme, Keerthi Pais Vice President IFSC Asia and Secretary IMF, and Mr. Rasip Inn, Secretary General IFSC Asia, the guests praised the athletes for their excellent performances and dedication to the sport.

 

Ruchi Narendran was thrilled to see the finals of speed climbing, and she lauded the efforts of TSAF to organize this event, and congratulate all the medallists and participants from different countries.
