Ramgarh, Sept 10: A team of the Committee on Government Undertakings, Jharkhand, led by Chairman Saryu Roy visited Ramgarh to review the status of activities in the district in the realms of sand mining, police housing schemes, tourism development, industries, SHGs involved in the promotion and sale of rural handicrafts under Jharcraft Scheme, liquor sales’ outlets, food grain distribution and other allied activities.
Ramgarh District Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar welcomed the Committee team led by Saryu Roy. The review meeting was held at the Collectorate Hall where other district officials were present.
While reviewing the activities being conducted under the Jharkhand Mineral Development Corporation, the Chairman took information on the status of activities in all Sand Embankments (Ghats) in the district. The District Mining Officer, in reference to the survey report, informed about the actions that were being taken against illegal sand lifting.
The Committee of State Government Undertakings’ Chairman, Saryu Roy sought formation on measures being adopted for the proposal pertaining to construction of police administrative and residential buildings under Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation in view of the needs of the district.
The District Planning Officer provided updates on queries pertaining to development activities in the tourism segment.
The current and planned activities in the regions under the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation were noted.
Chairman Saryu Roy, while taking stock of activities under the Jharcraft Scheme, sought information on benefits being provided to SHGs in different areas of the district and the number of Jharcraft outlets. He suggested measures to make the whole process and purpose of Jharcraft more effective and economically viable.
In the course of review of Product Corporation, the Chairman was informed about the achievement against the target this financial year. On the occasion, the Chairman gave necessary instructions regarding the operation of liquor shops in the district as per rules. In the course of review of the Food Supply Corporation, information about Door to Door Supply Scheme, PHH Card, Antyodaya and Green Ration Card was given by the District Supply Officer, while the Honorable Chairman also took information about the warehouses operated in the district and their current status.
In the course of review of the Minority Finance Corporation, the District Welfare Officer gave detailed information to the Chairman about the process of providing benefits to the beneficiaries under various schemes run for the people of minority community, Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme and other schemes. Chairman also took information about the transmission line being laid in the district to ensure power supply and the evacuation plan under the PVUNel plant under construction in Patratu block. In the course of review of the Building Construction Corporation, the Chairman was given information about the modular OT, driving track, pre-fabricated hospital under Patratu block etc. under construction by the corporation. Saryu Rai took information about the supply of medicines and the process of disposal of medicines in case of expiry. He also took information about the operation of the new 108 ambulances and the modern equipment available in them. During the meeting, Deputy Development Commissioner cum Additional Collector, district level officials and officers, executive engineers, representatives of various agencies and others were present.
