State Government announces 4% DA hike for employees

Ranchi: In a recent development, the Jharkhand state government has approved a 4% increase in dearness allowance for its employees, effective from July 1, 2023. The enhancement is applicable to all employees covered under the seventh pay revision, initiated from January 1, 2016. The Finance Department has issued a resolution formalizing this decision.

The decision to raise the dearness allowance from 42% to 46% was initially taken by the Jharkhand government on November 3, aligning with the decision made by the Central Government. This increase is expected to provide financial relief to state government employees.

As per the guidelines outlined in rule 34 (A) of the Jharkhand Service Code, dearness allowance is calculated based on the basic salary, excluding special pay and personal pay.

Furthermore, in line with the seventh pay revision implemented by the Central Government, the state government has extended the pension revision to state pensioners and family pensioners. This revision, approved by the Planning cum Finance Department, aligns the pensioners’ benefits with the policies effective from January 1, 2016.
