Ranchi: Former Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP President, Babulal Marandi, issued a stern warning to state officers, particularly those involved in corrupt practices. Marandi took to Twitter to caution officers against becoming tools for the corruption of the state government, emphasizing that such actions could have consequences in the future. His warning comes in the wake of revelations following a recent raid on Hotwar Jail by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The ED’s investigation at Hotwar Jail uncovered a plot to implicate its officers who were probing mining and land scams in Jharkhand. Disturbingly, the revelations also suggested collaboration between some government officials and Naxalites with the intention of causing harm to the ED. As a result, the ED has summoned the clerk, superintendent, and jailer of Hotwar Jail for questioning.
In response to the unfolding developments, Marandi expressed concern through his tweet, highlighting the continuous stream of negative news emerging from various sectors, including jails and police administration. He noted a lack of improvement and a growing trend of individuals succumbing to greed and engaging in wrongful activities.
The ED’s summons have extended beyond the jail staff, reaching prominent figures such as Sahibganj SP Naushad Alam. Marandi directly questioned Chief Minister Hemant Soren, pointing out that Naushad Alam had been summoned for his alleged active role in influencing a witness and obstructing testimony in the Vijay Hansda case.
