Performance key for winning slots for East Zone event in Kolkata next month

Jamshedpur, July 20: Shuttlers from across the state can look forward to display their skills and stand a chance to represent Jharkhand in the East Zone Badminton Championship.
The Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) is conducting state championship-cum-selection trials for the zonal meet, in Dumka between July 21 and 23. About 100 aspirants from the state in under-19 and senior (men and women) age group will be showcasing their prowess in the state meet and selection trials.
The event is being organized by Dumka District Badminton Association under the banner of JBA.
JBA secretary K Prabhakar Rao said they were expecting solid performance from their shuttlers during the state championship-cum-selection trials. “”We have a good bunch of shuttlers in the under-19 and senior age sections. We are very optimistic about the performance of our players in the East Zone event which is scheduled. at Star Academy Harinavi Goria in Kolkata from August 11 to 14,” he added.
Rao, also joint secretary of Badminton Association of India the renovated Mohan Ahuja Stadium in Jamshedpur will help in developing more shuttlers. “”Better infrastructure is always helpful in further development of athletes,”” he remarked.
