Jamshedpur, Sept 24: Students of the Department of Yoga and Naturopathy at Srinath University visited the Wellness Club of Meharbai Tata Memorial Hospital (MTMH) in Jamshedpur, as part of an academic tour designed to enhance their knowledge of cancer treatment and patient care.
The visit aimed not only to provide medical insights but also to extend emotional support to patients undergoing treatment. Students interacted with cancer patients, offering roses, greeting cards and fruits, creating an atmosphere of warmth and positivity that uplifted the patients’ spirits.
The group also participated in an informative discussion with experts from MTMH, including B.P. Singh, Dr. Abhishek Thakur and Amitabh Chatterjee. The specialists shared valuable insights into cancer, treatment procedures and highlighted the complementary role yoga and naturopathy could play in therapy and rehabilitation.
Students posed questions and received practical guidance from the experts. The tour proved highly enriching, blending medical knowledge with lessons in empathy and compassion, and motivating students to integrate service with their academic and professional journey.
