Srinath Group’s Annual Sports Day organized

Jamshedpur, Jan 18: The annual sports function of Srinath Group comprising Srinath University, Srinath College of Education and Srinath Public School was organized at the JRD Sports Complex. Head of Sports Academies and Adventure Program, Hemant Gupta who was the chief guest on the function, observed, “’Promoting children in sports along with education is a unique task. These children will become the pride of India in time to come. Along with your educational pursuits, you must participate in sporting activities to acquire allround development.”

The program opener was a sports dance presented by the students of Srinath Public School. The students of Srinath University and Srinath College of Education exhibited yoga dance.

The competitive track and field events included 100, 200, 400 and 800 meters races, relay race, block balancing, long jump, high jump, discuss throw, javelin throw, short putt, among others for the senior participants. For the pre-primary and primary classes, events like hat race, umbrella race, sit and burst the balloon, cake race, bean bag race, sack race, and others were organised. There were drill performances by the students of Srinath Public School in between the events.

The winning participants were awarded prizes at the conclusion of each event. Vice Chancellor of Srinath University, Dr. S.N. Singh said, “Despite the bad weather, there was no decrease in the enthusiasm of the students and teachers and everyone played individual roles in making the function a success.”

On this occasion, Chancellor of the University Sukhdev Mahato, Founder Shambhu Mahato, Managing Committee members Anita Mahato and Moumita Mahato, District Transport Officer Dinesh Ranjan Mahato, Former Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Govind Mahato and the Srinath University fraternity were present on the occasion. The faculty of Srinath Public School, Srinath College of Education and Srinath University were also present at the event.

At the conclusion, Sanjay Singh, Principal of Srinath Public School, offered the vote of thanks. (w/gsd)
