SP’s surprise inspection of R.I.T. and Adityapur police stations

Saraikela, July 25: Superintendent of Police, Anand Prakash, conducted a surprise inspection of the R.I.T. and Adityapur police stations late on Monday night. The SP first visited the R.I.T. police station, where he gathered information about the on-duty police personnel. He also received a progress report on the recent murder case of a taxi driver in Kashidiha. During the inspection, the SP thoroughly examined various files and provided essential instructions to the officers present.

SP Anand Prakash then visited the Adityapur police station, where he expressed his displeasure on the absence of the Officer on Duty (O.D.). He reprimanded the only Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Rajiv Kumar, who was on duty, for the negligence in handling of prisoner Khalil Ansari’s transfer.

The SP summoned the Adityapur police station OC who was on night patrol. Upon his arrival, the SP sought an explanation on issues from him. The SP inspected the computer room and the lock-up to ensure that the detainees were provided food and other necessities.

When asked about the surprise inspection, SP Anand Prakash described it as a routine visit to enforce accountability among the officers and staff. He said, “Surprise inspections are a part of police duty to ensure the honesty and responsibility of officers.” Regarding the functioning of both police stations, the SP mentioned that while most aspects were found to be in order, some deficiencies were identified and necessary instructions were given to the Station In-Charge for improvement. He also stated his intention to conduct surprise inspections of other police stations in the future
