Commissioner chairs meeting of Kolhan districts on ‘Development and Coordination’
Jamshedpur: The Commissioner of Kolhan Braj Mohan Prasad here on Thursday directed all government departments to establish smooth coordination among themselves to ensure speedy implementation of various development and welfare schemes being run in East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan and West Singhbhum.
Addressing a joint meeting of the three districts of Kolhan on the topic ‘Development and Coordination’, the Commissioner said the administration authorities should strive to ensure basic civic amenities to the people, especially road and supply of water and electricity.
“The administration authorities should not just take refuge in paper work. Instead, they should make sure the development actually takes place.
The pace of development should be fast so that the people get the basic civic amenities. This can be made possible through the coordination of various government departments among themselves,” said the Commissioner.
The Commissioner asked the road construction department officials concerned to remove the roadblocks in the way of development projects by holding talks with the forest officials on land acquisition issue. He said the problem of land acquisition can be solved if the road construction and forest departments come together and discuss the technical points.
On the drinking water supply issue, the Commissioner sought updates on the present scenario in rural areas. He said drinking water should be supplied to all village households by January 2018. He further said that the government buildings should be supplied power without any delay.
He sought report on the current power supply scenario from the engineers of various departments. He also sought information from the district civil surgeons of the three districts on the progress of public awareness campaign on vector-borne diseases and directed him to sprinkle bleaching powder and carry out fogging in mosquito breeding pockets across the districts.
