Jamshedpur, Aug 2: Two motorcycle-borne youths were killed in a road accident on National Highway 18 in Ghatsila police station area on Friday when a speeding container ran over them.
The deceased were identified as Kartik Das and Ashok Giri, both residents of Phulpal village under Ghatsila PS area. Kartik was the driver of Asian bus which runs between Mosabani and Jamshedpur while Ashok Giri was a cleaner of Maa Gayatri bus.
Sources said the incident occurred near Kapaghora village early in the morning. The victims were on their way to Mosabani around 5 am when the container coming in opposite direction from Ghatsila mowed them down. The container driver escaped after the incident. Later, local residents informed police about the incident. The bodies were sent to Ghatsila Sub-divisional Hospital for postmortem examination.
