Speeches, cultural bonanza mark Republic Day celebration at Loyola School Telco

Jamshedpur, Jan 27: Loyola School Telco celebrated the 75th Republic Day with patriotic fervour. The spirit of nationalism was well exhibited by the students through a spectrum of performances.  The Students put up cultural performances themed on the Indian Constitution that ensured unity in diversity.

The Chief Guest at the event was Vivek Jha, an alumnus of Loyola School Bistupur. He encouraged the students to do their best and feel proud to be Indians. He called upon the students and the august gathering to work for and maintain the unity and dignity of India to be preserved for posterity by dint of words and actions. The Principal, Charanjit Ohson, Administrator Father Gerry, Academic Coordinator Zeenat Maria Sundi, Primary Section Moderator Colleen Xavier, Anupam and alumni of Loyola School Jamshedpur were present at the flag hoisting ceremony.

Reyan Zaffar, a student of class 7 C , delivered the welcome speech. The school campus reverberated with zeal as the school Choir group rendered a patriotic song.  Ayesha Saini, a student of 6 B and Trisha Roy, of 6A delivered the speeches in Hindi and English, respectively, on the importance of Republic Day.  Aadya Das and Aanvi Kumari, students of 5B paid tribute to the country through Hindi and Urdu sonnet recitations.

The program concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ayanna Majumder, a student of 8A. “Indeed, the celebration rekindled the spirit of patriotism in the students with love and respect for our beloved country,” remarked Fr Gerry.
