Special war room set-up at Chakradharpur division for Chhath rush

Jamshedpur, Oct 21: In view of the upcoming Chhath festival, the Chakradharpur railway division  if South Eastern Railway has established a special ‘War Room’ at its divisional headquarters to ensure smooth travel and enhanced passenger safety during the festive rush.

According to railway officials, the ‘War Room’ is continuously monitoring heavy passenger movement at key stations under the division, including Tatanagar, Rourkela, and Jharsuguda.

A dedicated team has been deployed to keep a 24×7 watch on CCTV footage from these major stations to ensure quick response in case of any emergency or crowd-related issue.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) if Chakradharpur Tarun Huria said that the ‘War Room’ has been activated to streamline passenger flow in crowded areas and to prevent unnecessary gatherings at platforms and station premises.

He emphasized that the railway is fully alert and prepared to handle the festive rush efficiently.

To accommodate the increased number of passengers traveling home for Chhath, the Chakradharpur division has introduced 12 pairs of special trains on various routes.

These special trains are primarily aimed at facilitating travel for passengers heading towards Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Moreover, several regular trains have been augmented with extra coaches to provide adequate capacity for the surge in demand.

Railway officials have also appealed to passengers to follow safety guidelines and co-operate with on-duty staff for a hassle-free journey.

They urged travellers to immediately report any suspicious or unlawful activity to railway authorities to ensure a safe and secure festive season.
