Jamshedpur: Special Gram Sabha meetings were held at the headquarters of all 231 panchayats of East Singhbhum on Sunday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The district level meeting of special Gram Sabha was held in North Ichra panchayat.
It was attended by the MP of Jamshedpur Vidyut Varan Mahato, MLA of Ghatsila Laxman Tudu, Zila Parishad chairperson Bulu Rani Singh, Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar, DDC Vinod Kumar, Zila Panchayat Raj Officer Bipin Kumar, BDO Santosh Gupta and representatives of various block level panchayats. A large number of villagers were present during the special Gram Sabha.
Addressing the meeting, the MP of Jamshedpur said that the role of panchayat representatives was vital in the development of villages. He appealed to the panchayat representatives to discharge their duties well and make sure that the benefits of various Central and state government schemes reached the last man on the street.
Earlier during the programme, the MP administered pledge to the participants for playing collective role in the development of their panchayats.
District administration had made arrangements for TV at the meeting venue to disseminate the message of Chief Minister Raghubar Das among the villagers.
The CM addressed a special Gram Sabha organized in Ormanjhi. His message was telecast in all the panchayats of the state.
