Jamshedpur: In view of the possibilities of a third wave of corona infection, the district administration, East Singhbhum has sounded alert and is making efforts to make people aware as well as for prevention and treatment of corona infection. In view of the possibility of children being affected more in the third wave of Covid , the work of 20 beds in Sadar Hospital, Jamshedpur and 10 beds PICU in Sub-Divisional Hospital Ghatshila is in progress.

All PICU beds will be connected to the central oxygen pipeline. In both the hospitals, along with child wards, play areas for children are also being constructed. Inspirational and many cartoon characters have been depicted in the walls of the child ward so that young children get a home-like atmosphere in the hospital. Apart from this, TV, comic book, coloring book, indoor game, ludo, carrom board, chess, many types of soft toys etc. are also being arranged for entertainment in the ward.

In addition to the paediatric doctor in the pediatric ward, para medical staff, GNM, ANM ward boys will be available 24×7 shifts wise. Important guidelines have been issued by the Office of the Civil Surgeon regarding the food habits of children, what medical equipment should be kept in the house and other precautions to be taken in view of the prevention of Covid infection.
