Jamshedpur: A special chaupal was organized in Khikriguttu, Mango, on Wednesday by Mango Notified Area Committee to celebrate International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples.
The special officer of MNAC Sanjay Kumar held a meeting with the local residents and discussed various issues related to their problems and demands. The residents put forth issues mostly related to civic amenities.
They demanded repair of handpumps, construction of approach roads, beautification of pond and timely disbursement of old age pension.
Kumar was accompanied by the engineers and other officials of various departments. He proposed to set up a compost production unit in the locality with the help of self help groups of women.
He said the MNAC would not only help the residents to set up the unit but would also help them in getting market exposure.
The MNAC special officer further discussed about toilet construction and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) projects. He congratulated the villagers on the occasion of International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples.
Among those present on the occasion included S Rehman, Debashish Pradhan, Allen Soren, Roshan Ranjan, Singrai Soren, Rakhal Soren, Khela Murmu, Sonaram Soren, Arjun Hansda and Kalyani Hansda.
