Jamshedpur, April17: The Vigilance Team of South Eastern Railway busted a fake recruitment racket at Birbans Railway Station in Chakradharpur Division. Acting on intelligence reports, a joint operation involving three Vigilance Inspectors, Railway Protection Force personnel, and a sectional Commercial Inspector was conducted.
The operation uncovered a scheme offering fake appointments for the post of CCTC (Commercial Clerk cum Ticket Collector) at the Railway Booking counter of Birbans Railway Station. Allegations surfaced regarding the issuance of counterfeit appointment letters, Railway ID cards, and posting orders in exchange for monetary gains from unsuspecting job seekers.
During interrogation, three persons manning the Railway Booking counter confessed to being employed based on fraudulent documents provided by the racketeers. They admitted to paying significant amounts totaling Rs. 21 Lakh to secure their positions. Subsequently, all three aspirants and one implicated in the recruitment scam were apprehended and handed over to GRPS/Sini, along with seized mobile phones and unsold UTS tickets.
An FIR has been filed by the Government Railway Police, initiating further investigations to apprehend additional culprits involved in this elaborate fake recruitment syndicate.
