South Eastern Railway has ran 100 oxygen express trains for the country

 

Jamshedpur, May 21: South Eastern Railway has taken up the running of oxygen express in a mission mode during the unprecedented situation of Covid-19  and more than 100 oxygen express trains have already originated from its jurisdiction including Tatanagar Station in Jamshedpur. 

These oxygen express trains have helped to bring relief to the Covid affected patients in different parts of the country. 

“During the last 28 days (till May 20), South Eastern Railway has moved altogether 101 oxygen express trains carrying a total of 6810 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen to the requesting states. The oxygen express train originating from Tatanagar, Bokaro Steel City (both in Jharkhand) and Rourkela (in Odisha) under South Eastern Railway (SER) jurisdiction have reached different important placces in 11 states and Union Territories,” said a spokesperson of the South Eastern Railway based in Kolkata. 

So far the life saving liquid medical oxygen has been dispatched for the Covid affected patients in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telegana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Delhi. 

Two more oxgyen express trains originated from the SER’s jurisdiction  today. One train left Rourkela towards Faridabad carrying 59.64 tones of liquid medical oxygen and other train also left from Rourkela to Chennai with 41.45 tones of liquid oxygen.
