South Eastern Railway GM inspects stations in Ghatsila sub-division, MP, MLA submits demands for passengers convenience

Jamshedpur, Feb 24:  Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway inspected Ghatshila station under Ghatshila sub-division and Kharagpur railway division of East Singhbhum district. 

 Railway General Manager also inspected Ghatshila station premises and RPF post. 
The GM was overjoyed to see the gardening outside the post. After this the General Manager inspected the ticket counter, reservation counter. Check out the parking lot outside the station. The General Manager took information about the parking space outside the station from the DRM. Took stock of residential colony of railway personnel.

 The General Manager entered the houses in the Railway Colony and met the women and became aware of their problems. Also inspected the restrooms of the passengers and issued necessary guidelines  to the officials. The General Manager discussed with the officials about increasing the passenger convenience at Ghatshila station and gave them many necessary directions. After this, the General Manager held a meeting with MP Vidyut Varan Mahato, Baharagora MLA Sameer Mahanti.
Rakhamines station was inspected by  GM of South Eastern Railway on Thursday. 

She gave the message of environmental protection by planting a mango tree. Pleased with the cleanliness of Rakha Mines station, announced Rs 750 as group award. He said that passenger amenities will be increased at this station. The new building of the station in Rakha Mines will also be ready soon. Villagers demanded stoppage of Utkal train at Rakha Mines station and installation of lifts for the disabled at the station.
General Manager Archana Joshi also inspected the work conducted by Railway Development Corporation Department in Galudih area. Near Galudih barrage railway gate, constructed by Railway Development Corporation at a cost of Rs 28 crore, the foundation stone of the power sub-station of South Eastern Railway was removed by removing the curtain. A tight security arrangement was made during the inspection. Railway Development Corporation Department was rewarded Rs 7,500 for the timely construction of the sub-station. 

MP-MLA submitted memorandum to GM regarding passenger convenience


Jamshedpur MP  Bidyut Varan Mahato  submitted a memorandum to the General Manager for increasing passenger convenience in many stations under the Lok Sabha constituency. MLA Samir Mahanti has also submitted a memorandum. MLA Samir Mahanti expressed his happiness over the development work of Chakulia station. Representatives of Ghatshila MLA and Potka MLA have also submitted a memorandum to the General Manager. Apart from this, many organizations have also submitted a memorandum to the General Manager regarding passenger convenience.
Along with the General Manager, DRM Manoranjan Pradhan and other railway officials were present. The DRM apprised the General Manager closely about the ongoing development works at Ghatshila station. The General Manager told the media that after inspecting Ghatshila station, passenger facilities have been taken stock. Third line work is going on. There will be many development works in Ghatshila station. There will be many works including new foot overbridge, lift. On the question of the passenger inquiry center at Ghatshila station, the General Manager said that she has come to know about this matter and look into it. 

Enquiry counter after upgrading Ghatshila rail station

Responding to media queries at Ghatshila station, the General Manager said that the COVID-19 wave had inconvenienced routine work till January. It has been a month since the pandemic was controlled. Gradually train services will be enhanced with more passenger and express trains plying in this route. The enquiry counter will also be set up after the station is upgraded,” she said. On the question of keeping the reservation counter operational from 8 am to 8 pm, she said that it depended on the increase in the sale of reservation tickets.

Station Master and RPF Inspector get awards

During inspections of various rail stations in the division, the GM said that she was very impressed with the dedicated nature of job execution including maintenance work. In appreciation of the work done she awarded cash prizes for efficiency. Ghatshila Station Master SK Singh was present a cash prize of Rs 15,000. RPF OC Vinay Kumar Mahto received Rs 5,000 and the on-duty Station Master qwas presented Rs 2,000. The GM was very impressed by seeing a well maintained garden by the RPF personnel posted in Ghatshila. The Rakhamines Station Master was presented Rs 8,000.

No flyover, underpass in Kutludih

Responding to a query on the proposed construction of a flyover and underpass 2.5 kilometers  west of Ghatshila station, the DRM said that the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner had refused to transfer land for the purpose and hence the proposal, expected to take off in Kutludih had been shelved. “If and when the land required would be made available to the railways, work on the two proposals would commence,” the DRM informed.

During the GM’s inspection tour, former member of Ghatshila Railway Passenger Advisory Committee Rajendra Sharma, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Jagdish Bhakat, Kajal Dan, former BBJP District President Saroj Mahapatra, Haradhan Singh, District Councilor Aarti Samad, Panchayat Samiti member Ratna Mishra, MP representative Satyanarayan Pusti,  Mukhiya Poltu Sardar were among many others present.
