South Eastern Railway Central Hospital Kolkata tops Eastern Zone Hospitals

Kolkata, Mar 13: In a significant achievement, South Eastern Railway Central Hospital, located in Garden Reach, Kolkata, has clinched the top position among all hospitals in the Eastern Zone’s government sector for its Central Sterilisation Department. This department plays a crucial role in infection control by ensuring the proper sterilization of surgical instruments.

The commendable performance of the Central Sterilisation Department was affirmed by an audit conducted by the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), an external agency. CAHO not only recognized the efforts of SER Central Hospital’s Sterilisation Department but also praised its endeavors in enhancing compliance adherence in the Central Sterilisation and Supply Department (CSSD), leading to heightened levels of patient safety.
