Songs and music drive in the spirit of Bijoya at The Milanee Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, October 28: The festive spirit marks any Bengali occasion. Festivity is a cultural spirit handed down through generations and the ample proof was found at The Milanee Hall on the evening of Sunday, October 27 when Bengalis of all ages, social hues and colours got together to participate in the Bijoya Sammelani that was laden with songs and music made aesthetically palatable by an array of artistes from the Bangla TV world.

The excitement of the evening was palpable as DD Bangla, Ruposhi Bangla, DD and other channels’ mesmerizer, Debosri Tarafdar, who commenced with Rabindra Sangeet, moved on to Bengali modern songs along with Kishore Kumar’s all-time favourites making the audience groove to her sonorous voice. Her beautiful voice modulations made her songs more intoxicatingly pleasant. ETV and Star Jalsha’s super singer, Biswajit Pal who featured in the top 10 of Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma’s 2010 edition did not let the tempo set by Debosri slag, added to the evening’s delightful musical ensemble. The audience could not have asked for more.

The Milanee Club President, Shekhar Dey, speaking on the occasion stated that the Club was over a century old and every year, socio-cultural events were organized without a break. “We observe Durga and Kali Pujas, besides other functions. We should nurture fraternal feelings within us on such occasions as the Bijoya Sammelani. This will create unity in society.”

General Secretary of The Milanee, Dipankar Dutta expressed his Bijoya greetings to all and stated that the Durga Puja celebrations went off well. He said that the socio-cultural trend at The Milanee would continue.
