Sonari Samudayik Bhawan Durga Puja organizers thrilled over maiden success

Jamshedpur: With chanting of ‘Asche bochor abar hobe…’ at the immersion ghats and Bijoya milan, curtains came down on the Durga Puja celebrations of Sonari West Samudayik Bhawan (Road F-N). The members and residents of the area are overjoyed over the successful organizing of the pujas for the first time.
Plans are in the pipeline that in the coming years, the puja will be organized on a grander scale. Senior citizens and women are upbeat over the success. During the immersion procession, large numbers danced on the roads on the rhythm of ‘dhak’ beats.
On Navami afternoon Jamshedpur MP Vidyut Baran Mahato visited the puja and took blessings from Ma.
President Goutam Bose along with other members welcomed the MP. It was the relentless efforts of the team — Birender Pratap Singh, Navin Raj Shukla, Swapan Kumar Mukherjee, Pinaki Ranjan Bose, Ashok, Parmanand Choudhary, Chandra Mohan Choudhary, Ram Janam, NK Sinha, Birendra Sharma and many unsung vounteers which made the puja happen.
The daily puja rituals were mainly assisted by Meenakhsi Das, Kalpana Bose. Sujata and Sunita also played leading roles along with Gouri Bose in every day puja nitty gritties. Mousumi Das handled the social media section of the pujas. The special bhog for Ma was prepared by Sobhona Mazumdar, Sikha Lahiri, Bani Banerjee and Kakoli Mukherjee.
Ritwik Das and Rohit Sinha managed the ‘puja thalis’ along with assisting the priests. Mansh Mazumdar did the idol decoration.
On Ashtami and Navami evenings ‘dhunuchi’ dance was performed by Sritoma Das along with others. Jaggu was the man Friday of the pujas and without him the event would not have been a success. On Dasami day during the procession dance steps by Arun Das of the locality enthralled everyone.
After the immersion, the members and devotees along with residents of the area assembled at the bhavan premises and did ‘bijoya kolakuli’ along with distribution of sweets. The next event of the bhawn is Kali puja, which it has been organizing for nearly 35 years.
