Nine day Swadeshi Mela at Jamshedpur Gopal Maidan from today

Jamshedpur, Oct 7:  The 16th annual Swadeshi Mela will get underway at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on Saturday, October 8 and will continue till 16th of the month. The Swadeshi Mela will be inaugurated jointly by All India Convener of Swadeshi Jagran Manch R Sundaram, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto and MLA Saryu Roy at 5 pm on Saturday, October 8. The Fair timings will be from 11 am to 9:30 pm daily and, like every year, there would be no entry fee.

Briefing the media about the event, the organizing team comprising Manoj Singh, Ashok Goel, Manju Thakur, Amit Mishra and Rajpati Devi informed that the Swadeshi Mela, in its 16 year will have 300 stalls displaying various products from 19 states including Jharkhand. Besides handicrafts and household and fancy wares in the stalls, there would be food corners that will be loaded with traditional food items. Large wheels and other attractive swings have been set up for children at the fair ground.
