Jamshedpur, Sept 10 : The NSS unit of the Ghatshila – based Sona Devi University, organized a fund-raising drive today at Moubhandar and Ghatshila market areas to support flood victims in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
NSS nodal ifficer P Mali informed that the initiative was carried out to extend help to disaster-affected families.
Divided into six teams, NSS volunteers, guided by university faculty members, conducted a door-to-door campaign across Ghatshila, Moubhandar, Gurudwara Road, Dahi Goda, Ghatshila Market, and Station Road, collecting donations from the public.
The students managed to raise a total of Rs 10,039, which will be deposited in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to aid flood victims.
Chancellor Prabhakar Singh praised the students’ efforts, saying he was proud of their commitment.
He urged them to continue playing the role of responsible citizens and contribute actively to nation-building, adding that such initiatives bring recognition not only to the students but also to the university.
