Jamshedpur, Nov. 28: Sohrai festival was celebrated at Turmadih football ground on Monday where a large number of people from the adivasi community gathered at the venue.
At the event zila parishad vice chairperson Rajkumar Singh said, adivasi community tops the list when it comes to cleanliness and other communities should learn from them. He appealed the people to help develop skill and talent among the children so that they don’t have to run after the political leaders.
The gathering was also addressed by Potka MLA Menka Sardar. She appealed the adivasi youths to come forward and help save the tradition and heritage of their ancestors. She also urged the people to support and inform all about the welfare schemes of central and state government.
BJP leader Ganesh Mahali said, the amendments in the CNT/SPT act is in favour of the adivasis. The programme was anchored by BJP leader Pintu Chaki where Sanjeev Kumar and others were present.
