Social development should be in the focus of Marwaris� goal: Garodia

Jamshedpur: The Marwari community should set a goal while keeping social development in focus and implement its plans accordingly.

Every member of the society is a member of Marwari Sammelan irrespective of whether membership formalities have been fulfilled or not. This was observed on Sunday by Govardhan Prasad Garodia, state president of Jharkhand State Marwari Sammelan, during Kolhan divisional conference of the outfit at Agrasen Bhavan, Sakchi. The programme was organized under the aegis of East Singhbhum district unit of Marwari Sammelan.

Addressing around 150 members of the outfit who attended the event from all over Kolhan, Garodiya said the responsibilities of Marwari Sammelan had increased many folds in view of the changing times. He said the outfit members now need to be more active than ever before.

The programme was also addressed by former national vice-president Vinay Sarawagi and former state president Rajkumar Kedia.

Presenting the annual report on the occasion, the state general secretary of the outfit Basant Mittal said that the outfit was active in 23 out of the total 24 districts of Jharkhand. He said only Garhwa had no representative of the outfit as yet. He added that so far a total of 465 life members have been brought to the outfit�s fold in the current session.

Also present as a distinguished guest, veteran journalist Radheshyam Agrawal said the current times demanded opposition of caesarian surgery of pregnant women as it engendered many diseases. He said certain doctors also resorted to caesarian surgery against their professional ethics.

A welcome speech was given by the district president of the outfit Umesh Shah. State vice president Nirmal Kabra delivered the presidential address while a vote of thanks was proposed by Santosh Agrawal.

A three-point proposal related to political participation, organizational structure, marriage, entrepreneurship development in new generation, preservation of tradition and culture and imparting modern education to children was put forth during the conference by joint secretary Prakash Sharma.

Among those present on the occasion included Umesh Kauntia, Murlidhar Kedia, Bhanwar Lal Khandelwal, Bajrang Lal Agrawal, Vijay Khemka, Mahesh Goel, Pawan Poddar, Shravan Kabra, Vishwanath Kabra, Shravan Debuka, Vinod Khemka, Purushottam Bhoutika and Omprakash Ringsia.
