Jamshedpur: Four sleeper buses are now operational from Jamshedpur to Prayagraj, offering convenient travel options for devotees heading to Maha Kumbh. These buses depart daily around 6 pm from the Jai Prakash Narayan Bus Terminal in Bhuiyandih, Jamshedpur and reach Prayagraj at approximately 8 am, covering the 13-14 hour journey.
The route passes through Ranchi, Sasaram, Kudra, Mohania, Chandauli, Mughalsarai Bypass and Varanasi. Sleeper buses operated by Singh Travels, Rajdhani Travels, Arzoo Travels and Nataraj Travels are currently in service.
Tickets can be booked online through the RedBus portal or at the terminal through authorized booking agents. The fare is Rs 1,750 for a lower sleeper, Rs 1,650 for an upper sleeper and Rs 1,450 for a regular seat.
Deepak Kumar Singh, owner of Singh Coach, noted the growing demand. “The number of passengers traveling to Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh holy dip is increasing steadily. If no barricades are in place by the administration, the bus drops passengers at Baika Bagh Labor Chowk in Prayagraj. The return journey also begins from the same point at 4:30 pm,” he said.
The return buses arrive in Jamshedpur by 6 am the next day, ensuring a convenient schedule for travelers. With reliable service and increasing passenger interest, these buses are making it easier for devotees to participate in the Maha Kumbh festivities.
