Slackness not tolerable in implementing development work: CS

Ranchi: Directing state officials concerned while reviewing Saryu Action Plan, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma on Wednesday said that development works must be implemented on a priority basis in the state.
�The government has to make sure that no child remains illiterate. Door to door campaign should be run to prepare the profile of 38 villages of Latehar.

It should also be ensured that all dropout children reconnect with school and academy. Services of CRP, BRP and swayamsevaks should be taken for sending the dropouts back to residential schools like Kasturba Gandhi Residential Schools and others, said Verma.

The CS directed the DEO to arrange training for school management committee so that they can coordinate with schools. She said that mukhiyas should also be made responsible for the management of the schools. She directed the civil surgeons of all the districts to make a list by conducting a door to door survey of 5,000 households in a given area and ensure health benefits for all the women. Institutional delivery and timely immunization of the infants is their responsibility, she said.

Reviewing the work of social welfare department, the CS asked the state officials to submit a list of the proposed aanganbadi centres so that their functioning could be approved and work may be resumed. The Latehar DC said that abandoned schools waiting to be merged into others will be used as anganwadi centers. She said that PDS dealers should deliver food grains only through PoS machine. DSOs should get every house surveyed by panchayat sevaks so that no one remains hungry because of poverty, she added.

The CS said that zero muster roll should be ensured at every cost and that women in every household should be connected with mahila mandals with a view to make them self dependent. She said that the responsibility of local market should be given to sakhi mandals.

During the review of agriculture department, Verma directed the DAOs to create a profile of lands in the area and determine quality of soil. Under social security, she said that no old age person or widow should remain bereft of pension. She directed the executive engineer of drinking water department to repair all hand pumps before summer sets in to avoid drinking water scarcity.

After departmental review, Verma, accompanied by the DGP, addressed the people. She said that hardship of people of Saryu has ended and they are developing with the rest of the state. She said that public plays an important role in ensuring development with administration. Weekly vans are being arranged so that the produce could be lifted to Latehar market and they can get proper price for their products.

The DGP said that 33% reservation will be given to women in police appointments in 2017. �A special training program will be conducted in the area so that educated youths can be appointed in police force. Sonwar dam will be rejuvenated before rainy season sets in. Rs. 18 lakh 90 thousand were distributed by Social Welfare under NRLM, 56.91 lakh by Agriculture Dept., Rs. 3 lakh 56 thousand by Social Welfare Dept., 58.64 acre forest lease patta among 57 people and 200 mosquito nets by Health Dept,� said the CS.

While reviewing the Banalat Action plan, the CS directed to train and connect youths with self employment and provide basic services and amenities to the villagers. She also directed the state officials concerned to coordinate with the people and make them economically self dependent.

Verma started Pesrar Action Plan on 27th February with a view to develop the villages and rid the state of extremism.

She said that benefitting the people through the schemes is the responsibility of the district administration.
People in administration are visiting villages to review the developmental schemes and do the needful after the review.
