Jamshedpur: A workshop on skill development was organized at Kalyan Gurukul in Dhanchatani on Wednesday under the aegis of the state welfare department and Pan IIT Alumni Reach for India Foundation. The Mukhiyas and panchayat committee members of local panchayats were also present on the occasion.
The chief guest of the event was the East Singhbhum Deputy Development Commissioner B Maheshwari. He said the Gurukul imparted useful job-oriented skills to children who have either passed Matriculation Board exams or have dropped out of school. He said the youths should try to become employers by making right use of their skills. He said there are numerous skill development centres in the district for the benefit of youths.
Also present on the occasion, the District Plan Officer Ajay Kumar said NABARD would provide loans to poor children for underoing skill training.
