SJMDC distributes Rs 17 lakh micro loans to 65 borrowers

Jamshedpur: Swavalambi Jharkhand Microwelfare Development Centre (SJMDC) affiliated to Central Board of Marketing Development (SJMDC) today distributed micro loans amounting to Rs 17 lakh to 65 women with the objective of enabling them to start income generating activities to enhance family income.

Guest at the program, Padma Shri award winning poet Surendra Dubey observed, �This micro finance scheme for women launched by SJMDC is a step in the direction of making women financially and economically self dependent.� Another guest, poet from Varanasi Anil Choubey told the women borrowers, �Use the loan in the proper way and with the income generated repay your loan so that SJMDC can extend such financial help to other women after you.�

SJMDC chairman Murlidhar Kedia stated on the occasion, �Today the government has drawn up loan provisions for the development of small industries but many applicants, even after running from pillar to post, are denied such loans. At such times SJMDC is providing loans to women for their financial empowerment so that they can improve their financial status and be of economic help at home.�

SJMDC directors Ashok Goyal and Bandeshankar Singh also spoke on the occasion. Among those present besides the micro loan beneficiaries were Kaushal Kishore, Ravi Shankar Mishra, Sudhir Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Amit Kumar, Banshi Das and many other women.
