Jamshedpur, May 2: Six miscreants were produced in the court by the police in case related to firing near Nitibag Colony in Patelnagar under Sitaramdera thana area late on Wednesday night.
Rakesh Rai alias Kallu, Narayan Thakur, Anurag Kumar Gupta, Ajay Kumar alias Appu Rai, Pankaj Dubey and Raja were among the miscreants sent to jail. All have confessed to be involved shooting. During interrogation, Kallu said that Kanhaiya Singh had been threatening him on phone and WhatsApp for several days.
On the day of the incident, they spoke on phone. There was heated discussion and then Kanhaiya Singh threatened him of dire consequences. Kanhaiya Singh along with his colleagues reached Kallu Rai’s office in Patel Nagar on Scorpio and opened fire. The attackers who were led by Sudhir Dubey gang were armed with carbine and sophisticated pistols had launched the attack in sequel to a dispute cropped up over comments of supremacy posted on Facebook.Those injured have been identified as Kanhaiya Singh, Vikram Singh, Sachin Singh, Anshu Chauhan, Rajkumar Singh, Somnath Singh and Sonu Singh. Condition of Vikram and Sachin is said to be serious. The armed attack in sequel to the gang war took place near the entrance gate of Nitibag Colony about 11 pm on Thursday.
Soon after the incident took place, police had reached the spot and had started probing into the incident. So far the police have seized an SUV belonging to the Sudhir Dubey gang and recovered four empty cartridges from the scene of armed attack. The members of Dubey gang have absconded soon after the incident.
