Jamshedpur, July 22: A special investigation team (SIT) would investigate the triple murder case which shook the police department here on Thursday.
Police detained six suspects in connection with the murders. Investigators are probing family dispute and love angle in the crime among other possibilities, sources said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), East Singhbhum, Prabhat Kumar, said the SIT had been formed to probe into the death of police constable Savita Rani Hembram, her mother and daughter.

Police recovered the bodies of Savita Rani, a constable posted at the SSP office, her mother and her daughter, from a staff quarter at Golmuri Police Lines yesterday. The bodies were decomposed when found and death weapons were also recovered from the scene.

A dog squad and forensic experts were also taken to the crime scene to investigate the case. Police sealed the entire area and began the probe. According to the SSP, the bodies have been sent for autopsy which would also be videographed. A magistrate has been deputed for this purpose, he said.
