SIR Jamshedpur: Karim City College Hosts Voter Awareness Session for Students

Jamshedpur: The Voter Literacy Club organized a voter awareness program for students at Karim’s Educational Complex on Monday, under the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 initiative.

During the event, organizers shared critical dates and timelines fixed by the Election Commission for SIR-2026. The program aimed to educate students on the detailed process of enrolling new names, making corrections, and understanding the overarching importance of the electoral roll.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz emphasized that voter registration of every eligible citizen remains vital to strengthening democracy. He urged students to not only become aware themselves but also to inspire their families and communities to register.

Syed Sajid Pervez, the Nodal Officer of Karim City College, explained the entire SIR-2026 process step-by-step. He detailed the procedures for adding new names, correcting errors, updating addresses, and handling other necessary modifications through both online and offline application modes.

The interactive session concluded with an open Q&A where officials answered students’ queries regarding SIR-2026, followed by a collective appeal to students to drive voter registration awareness in their neighbourhoods. A large number of students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff attended the event.
