Singhbhum MP raises HEC issues and demands modernization of panchayats

Chaibasa, December 14: Singhbhum MP Geeta Koda raised the question of modernization of panchayats and investment in food processing sector and the issue of HEC in the Parliament.
She demanded for regularization of the payment of the outstanding monthly pay scales of the last seven months to the workers working in the Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited Company at the earliest.
In the Lok Sabha, Geeta Koda  said that HEC, a Central Government  undertaking in the state of Jharkhand, has been raising the country’s pride in the field of heavy industry for the last 63 years. HEC is one of the supplier of capital equipment to the country in space research, ISRO, defence, nuclear, power, rail, steel and mining sectors.

“More than three thousand workers working in this industrial establishment are not being given monthly pay scale for the last seven months. Due to which the working laborers have become financially crippled, the families of the working laborers are facing starvation. The working laborers are compelled to agitate by taking to the road demanding payment of wages,” said Koda.
She questioned the Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Kapil Moreshwar Patil and Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Prahlad Singh Patel related to investment in the food processing sector  and on the issue of modernization of Panchayats.
