Singhbhum Chamber urges action on severe traffic jam at Mango Bridge

Jamshedpur, August 1: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has formally appealed to East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal to address the severe traffic jams on Mango Bridge. This appeal was communicated through a letter highlighting the daily difficulties faced by the public due to the persistent congestion. President Vijay Anand Moonka emphasized that Mango has become a densely populated area, with numerous offices, businesses, schools, and hospitals located in nearby regions such as Sakchi, Bistupur, and Adityapur. This high volume of traffic contributes to daily congestion on the bridge, causing significant delays for workers, students, patients, and other commuters.

The Chamber reported that these traffic jams are particularly problematic for the elderly, sick, school children, and pregnant women. In critical situations, delays can be severe enough to jeopardize lives, especially when emergency patients are trying to reach hospitals. To mitigate the issue, the Chamber proposed several solutions: first, that all buses should remain within designated bus stands to avoid obstructing roads; second, to impose a temporary ban on heavy vehicles on Mango Bridge from 8 am to 10 pm for a week to evaluate its effectiveness; and third, to deploy experienced traffic police officers to both roundabouts of Mango Bridge to better manage the congestion.

The Chamber, including Vice President Anil Modi and other office bearers, believes that implementing these measures will significantly reduce traffic jams. They have urged both the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police to take prompt action to resolve the issue.
