Jamshedpur, Sept 22: Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has embraced modern technology by adopting electronic voting as the preferred method for decision-making.
SCCI election for the session 2023-25 is scheduled for September 26.
SCCI will replace traditional ballot voting with a more efficient and streamlined approach that includes both electronic voting and venue-based voting, said Jagdish Khandelwal, Scrutinizer, Election Commission, SCCI.
Addressing a press meet at Chamber Bhawan on Friday, Jagdish Khandelwal informed that e-voting will begin at 10 am on September 23 and will continue till 5 pm on September 25.
“The venue voting will be held on the day of Annual general Meeting scheduled on September 26. The voting will commence at 11 am till 5 pm and the result will be announced at around 7 pm,” said Khandelwal.
NK Jain informed that all registered voters have received their unique identification credentials, including ID and password, via email, ensuring a seamless and secure e-voting process.
“For those who may face challenges with online voting or prefer to cast their votes in person, the Chamber will set up e-voting stations at the Chamber Bhawan. Twenty computers will be made available for this purpose, and voting will be open from 11 am to 5 pm, “said Jagdish Khandelwal.
Khandelwal further said that 1987 members of SCCI will cast their votes either through e-voting or venue voting for which either of the id cards Aadhaar, Voter or identity card provided by the Chamber.
Jagdish Khandewal emphasized that candidates will not be permitted to enter the Chamber building during the election process. To ensure transparency and fair conduct, only five individuals from both competing groups will be allowed at the polling location to assist in voter identification.
