Sindri College dispute: Lady teacher blames principal for attack on her

Dhanbad, Mar 29: A new twist has come in attack on Sindri College Sindri lady teacher as the victim assistant professor in written statement has blamed principal of the institution for the incident.

The victim assistant professor Dr Sharmistha Acharya, who is also examination controller of the college, has alleged that she was attacked on road as she had complaint to university authority against  irregularities of principal.

Dr Acharya was attacked by bike borne goons on March 22 at around 5.30 pm while she was returning  residence by car from college after conducting examination.

Notably  Dr Acharya   has not mentioned  name of principal in her  complaint to  Sindri police station.

Dr Acharya alleged that the principal Dr KK Pathak  and chief accountant Shibesh Shankar Jha had been pressurizing her to sign on fake examination bill but she refused to do and duly informed the university.

“The principal had prior information of attack on me as without information  he said my name to reporter when he asked him about incident”, said  Dr Acharya.

The examination controller alleged that she personally  informed  the principal about the incident  but neither  he came to  Sindri nor  directed any staff of college to help me.

“Even after  one week of incident  principal has not  informed Sindri police station about it”, she said.

Dr Acharya also alleged she and  magistrate Rampad Tudu  had  caught a fake examinee of semester 5  examination but principal  and  staff set him free.

‘Allegation to cover faults’

Sindri College principal Dr KK Pathak said he would not involve in slaging match with teacher but of course would clear that she is making all allegation to cover her fault.

“I have left one year service.  I have always helped her.  No student has taken admission in Bangla subject in last three year. Keeping this mind former vice-chancellor Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi had issued notification directing her to attend  classes two-day in week at Chas College (Bokaro) but she does not go there. I never pressurized  her”, said Dr KK Pathak.

The principal said one side Dr Acharya has alleged she has been removed from post of examination controller, other side she today ( Saturday) signed on paper.  “ In absence of student in her subject, Dr Acharya  has no work in college and that is why she is engaged in blame game”, he said.
