‘Silk Fab’ gets good response in Jamshedpur, expo till Sept. 26

Jamshedpur, Sept. 21: Silk Fab, an exhibition cum sale of exquisite silk handloom fabrics organized by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in collaboration with National Handloom Development Corporation limited, a Government of India undertaking, in the city is drawing huge crowds. The organisers say that NHDCL has been taking various steps to promote silk handloom and potential marketing support to craftsmen.

With Durga Puja round the corner, people from different parts of city are heading towards the exhibition. ‘I came here to buy a silk saree as the exhibition offers finest thread work and quality fabric’, said Rekha Jha, Mango resident and a school teacher.

Another buyer at the exhibition held in Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur, said, imposing colours, eye-catching range and a pan-Indian collection gives us a variety to choose from.

The organizers said the very purpose behind organizing the event is to promote silk handloom sector in the state and provide a proper platform to silk handloom fabrics.

The exhibition will continue till 26th September. It is open on all days including Sundays from 11 am to 8 pm. The various silk products available at the exhibition include silk sarees, furnishings, salwar suits, dress materials, dupattas and stoles.

The exhibition is timed with Durga Puja festival and is drawing huge crowds.
