Silk Fab exhibition drawing good response

Jamshedpur, Sept. 15: Silk Fab, an exhibition cum sale of exquisite silk handloom fabrics is receiving good response from the denizens of Jamshedpur.
The exhibition which is being held at Tulsi Bhawan, Bistupur, saw visitors in large numbers at the venue on Friday, the third day of the exhibition.
It has been organized by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in collaboration with National Handloom Development Corporation limited, a Government of India undertaking.
The organizers said the exhibition is receiving good response with every passing day and with weekend approaching we hope to pull good crowd.
Several organizations from different states across the country are participating in the exhibition which will continue till 26th September. It will be open on all days including Sundays from 11 am to 8 pm. The various silk products available at the exhibition include silk sarees, furnishings, salwar suits, dress materials, dupattas and stoles.
The organizers said there are around 65 lakh people in the country are directly or indirectly benefitted from the handicraft sector. Handicraft is the second largest sector in the country after agriculture.
They further said that the purpose behind organizing the event is to promote silk handloom sector in the state and provide a proper platform to silk handloom fabrics. They said there was a big market for silk products and the people wanted to purchase them from a variety of options available to them at such exhibitions.
