Sikhism based on values of service, dedication, sacrifice: Raghubar Das

Jamshedpur, Sept 12: The first death anniversary of the founder and Chief Seavadar of Dukh Bhanjan Gurudwara Sahib in Golmuri Dus Number Basti, Baba Swarn Singh (Channi Baba) was organized in the Sidhgora Ganesh Puja Maidan in the form of ‘Gurmati Samagam.’ Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Member of Parliament Bidyut Baran Mahato and former BJP District President Dinesh Kumar were among many others who paid their obeisance to Baba Swarn Singh (Channi Baba). After people had offered their homage to Channi Baba, recitation from the Gurubani was presented.

A medical checkup and blood donation camp were also organized on the occasion by volunteers in memory of Baba Swarn Singh.

Raghubar Das, in his tribute, observed, “Baba Swarn Singh Ji was a true servant of Sikhism. He dedicated his entire life in serving the Guru’s house and extending a helping hand to the needy. He established the Dukh Bhanjan Gurudwara Sahib and served all visitors ceaselessly. He gave up all worldly attachments and his family and devoted his entire life to the service of humanity. Baba Channi’s life was a reflection of the spirit of Sikhism that is based on the legacy of the 10 Gurus that include the values of service, dedication, and sacrifice.”

Sardar Inderjeet Singh, Bhagwan Singh, Sardar Shailendra Singh, Tinplate Sarjeet Singh, Savinder Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Jagdish Singh, Pal Singh, Bittu Singh, Tarsem Singh, Avtar Singh, Tejinder Singh Joni, Jaswant Singh, Sadhu Singh, Soni Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Goldy Singh, Gurucharan Singh Billa, Surendra Singh Shinde and many other members of the community were present to pay their respects and offer prayers on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Baba Swarn Singh.
