Jamshedpur: Members of the All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) gathered at Azad Basti, Jemco, on Monday to pay a heartfelt tribute to Bhagat Singh on his 95th martyrdom anniversary. Satnam Singh Gambhir, President of the Federation for Eastern India, led the event and garlanded the iconic freedom fighter’s statue.
Addressing the assembly, Gambhir issued a powerful declaration: the organization will move beyond “struggling” and instead wage a “revolution” to ensure the government grants Bhagat Singh official martyr status. He emphasized that the Federation will exhaust every possible resource to secure the recognition and rights the revolutionaries deserve.
The Federation also demanded that the Centre declare March 23—observed as Shaheed Diwas—a national holiday. Gambhir confirmed that the organization plans to raise this demand through formal administrative channels.
Adding to the discourse, Inder Singh Inder proposed that schools organize special programs every March 23. He argued that educating children about the sacrifices and legacy of India’s martyrs is essential for instilling patriotic values in the younger generation.
Prominent members, including Manjit Singh Gill, Dilbagh Singh, and Manmeet Luthra, joined the gathering to reaffirm their commitment to Bhagat Singh’s ideals.
