Sikh children shine at Hola Mohalla Sports Meet in Jamshedpur

157 Participants Compete in Mango Event

Jamshedpur, March 1: A sports competition dedicated to Hola Mohalla was organized on Sunday by the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Gatka Akhara at Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha in Mango. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 157 Sikh children from across the city. The programme was held under the aegis of the Akhara, sponsored by the Dharam Prachar Committee, Jamshedpur, and Gurudwara Shri Singh Sabha, Mango.

In the senior group race, Jaswinder Singh emerged as the fastest runner, followed by Harpreet Singh in second place and Harjeet Singh in third. In the senior girls’ category, Jaspreet Kaur won gold, while Amrit Kaur secured silver and Simran Kaur took bronze.

In the junior boys’ race, Sandeep Singh finished first, with Simrandeep Singh and Gurpreet Singh claiming second and third positions respectively. In the 12-year-old boys’ race, Prithviraj Singh secured first place, while Harvanshpal Singh and Gursahib Singh finished second and third. In the same age group for girls, Gursimran Kaur won gold, followed by Ananya Sharma and Chanan Kaur with silver and bronze.

Harshpreet Singh won the push-ups competition and also claimed first place in shot put. Dharam Singh and Samarneel Singh finished second and third in shot put.

In the relatives’ race, Amandeep Kaur finished first, while Navneet Kaur and Rajinder Kaur came second and third. In the women’s shot put, Navneet Kaur won gold, followed by Amanpreet Kaur and Tejinder.

Fun events like the 100-metre race, sack race, spoon-marble race, basketball race and quiz were also organized. Jaswant Singh Jassu highlighted the significance of Hola Mohalla. Winners were later awarded medals.
