Jamshedpur, October 19: Ex-soldier and resident of Kalikapur village under Potka block, Shyam Besra put up a brilliant performance in the inter-state archery competition at Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
Besra bagged the third position and received a two-wheeler motorcycle. On his return to Kalikapur village on Wednesday, Shyam Besra was felicitated by Sudhan Soren of Jadugoda Rasiya Club at Jadugoda chowk.
Later addressing the gathering, Shyam Besra said, if provided better facilities by the government I would prove myself at the highest level and make Jharkhand proud. Chief guest for the occasion JMM leader Babu Lal Soren felicitated Shyam Besra.
The contest was organized by Veerdova Memorial Society Chilling Godda where 2500 archers from Jharkhand, Odisha and Bengal participated. The first prize went to Belpahari of Bengal and archer of Gidhni won the second prize.
