Jamshedpur, July 21: Shweta Chand took over as the president of Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur during the 23rd installation ceremony held at a city hotel on Friday.
Outgoing President Alokananda Bakshi handed over the baton to the new president. Eminent social worker Ruby Bodhanwala was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The new executive committee members for 2018-19 includes President- Shweta Chand, I.P.P – Alokananda Bakshi, Vice President and CGR – Pasam Adesara, Secretary- Mamta Trehan, Treasurer- Dr. Manju Rani Singh, ISO – Sarika Singh and Editor-Neena Jain. The committee members part of the club are Alka Garg, Anita Kumari, Archana Shekhar, Priti Goyal, Rekha Jaiswal and Vandana Sinha.
Earlier, the event started with lighting of the auspicious lamp by dignitaries. In her welcome address, Alokananda Bakshi, shared her experiences of running the club successfully and mentioned how it enriched her life.
She presented secretary’s report and showed important activities of the club through a power point presentation.
Outgoing President Alokananda Bakshi presented President’s Collar and Charter Certificate to new president Shweta Chand.
Every member took oath of working together for the betterment of the society and to carry forward the work accomplished by predecessors.
In her address to the club newly appointed President Shweta Chand shared the goals of the club in tune with association and district.
She said that focus will be on education, vocational training and successful running of all continuous projects. Two to three government schools will be adopted to convert into Happy Schools, Chand asserted.
Chief Guest Ruby Bodhanwala, appreciated the good work done by the Club and expressed hope that the legacy will continue in future too.
