Jamshedpur: Shreya Shruti, class XII student of DAV School, NIT, who committed suicide yesterday, passed with a First Division in her class XII CBSE Board examination results published today. She secured 66.8 per cent marks in the exam, school sources said.
Shreya ended her life apprehending poor results in maths and science yesterday by jumping off a six storied apartment in Adityapur near Sher-e-Punjab Chowk. She died at the scene after sustaining fatal injuries. She left behind a suicidal note stating she was upset over her poor performance in the exam, especially in maths paper.
With Shreya having passed the exam after her suicide, her school teachers, principal, parents and friends are in a state of shock as her extreme decision not only took away her life but also proved to be away from the reality that life is full of positive possibilities.
The school principal Satya Pal Sharma said Shreya was a good student and that she had obtained 9.8 CGPA in CBSE X exams. He said such negative actions should be kept out of view and positive attitude should be adopted for a bright future. He said students should take the results in their stride and be strong and optimistic.
