Shock and anguish: Jamshedpur pays tribute to Pulawama martyrs

Another surgical strike is the need of the hour, feel many citizens

Jamshedpur, Feb 15: Steel City residents expressed shock and anger over the carnage witnessed in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, which resulted in the killing of 49 CRPF personnel following a Fidayeen attack.

Blaming the Jaish-e-Mohammad Chief Masood Azhar, Pakistan government and its military establishment for the terror attack, representatives of various social, political, cultural and academic organizations took to the streets to demand stringent action against the perpetrators of the cowardly act. A majority of the protestors demanded a second but bigger surgical strike on the terror factories being run on the neighbouring country. There were also few who directly blamed China for supporting growth of terror outfits on Pakistani soil.

District BJP president Dinesh Kumar said, �India will teach the terrorist nation called Pakistan a lesson of lifetime. It is high time we destroy the terror pockets in our neighbourhood once and for all.�

BJP state spokesperson Rajesh Kumar Shukla said the incident was an act of cowardice. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised not to let the sacrifices of the martyred jawans go in vain.

�Central government has once done it through surgical strike. But it seems, there is a second coming of the historic anti-terrorist operation too,� he said.

State Youth Intuc leader Rakesh Sahu said all Indians should unite against terrorism, extremism and every other anti-national activities and take a vow to support the government in eradicating them from their roots.
