Shiva’s triple treat propels Gyandeep to big win in RFYS football

Jamshedpur: Shiv Hansda claimed the individual honours in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Thursday as his three goals powered Gyandeep High School to a thumping 8-1 victory over Gopabandhu Vidyapith in a junior boys qualifying match.

It was a one-sided affair from the word go at the Tinplate Complex Stadium with Shiva opening the account in the 16th minute. The Gyandeep striker eventually notched a triple treat scoring his second and third goals in the 46th and 55th minutes of the match.

Manish Lakra – who was later declared as the player of the match – scored the other goal in the 25th minute to give Gyandeep a 2-0 lead in the first half.

Goals for Gyandeep came in a rush in the second half with Ashish Tudu scoring in the 33rd minute, Sumit Karmakar in the 35th and Sahil Lohar in the 39th before Pankaj Sardar broke the pattern by scoring for Goapbandhu Vidyapith in the 42st minute. However, Gyandeep continued undettered as Sumit scored his second goal in the 52nd besides Shiva’s double.

In another Junior Boys match at the same venue, SP Intercollege routed ADL High School 5-0. Sukhlal Hembram opened the account in the 13th minute while Ram Chandra Murmu –player of the match – scored his first goal in the 14th minute. Murmu again found the net in the 29th minute to give SP Intercollege a lead of 3-0 in the first half. Prem Murmu scored in the 44th minute and Mohan Soren scored in the 54th minute to take the final tally to 5-0.

In other junior boys’ qualifiers, Blue Bells High School upstaged Vikas Vidyalaya 5-0 while Jusco School (South Park) got the better of Carmel Bal Vihar 4-0.
Akhouri Sinha led the charge for Blue Bells at the Sumanth Moolgaonkar Stadium in Telco scoring two goals (14th and 42nd minutes) while player of the match Rohit Singh (20th), Kamla Kant Singh (21st) and Vishal Gorai (36th minute) were the others to make it to the score sheet.

Player of the match Shoaib Khan and Rahul Ojha (two goals each) were the top guns for Jusco at the Armoury Ground.
