Shiv Gautam�s maiden ton helps Jharkhand take 157 runs lead

Jamshedpur, Feb 7: Brilliant innings by Shiv Gautam helped Jharkhand take healthy lead against Services on day 2 of the Ranji Trophy match played at Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur on Saturday.

Ranchi boy Shiv Gautam scored 150 runs his maiden first class century to take Jharkhand to 387 runs with a healthy lead of 157 runs in the first innings against Services.

Gautam hit 18 boundaries in his 271-run ball. Resuming with an overnight score of 102/2, Shiv Gautam Gautam resumed at 26 batted his side to a commanding position.

RR Singh came out to bat with Gautam but Singh was the first batsman to fall after scoring 22 runs to Suraj Yadav. Gautam continued his brilliant batting the whole day were his partners came and went.

Star player Saurabh Tiwary was out for a duck to Yadav. Ishank Jaggi played a good knock of 63 runs before falling to Roshan Raj, captain of the side K Deobrat fell for four runs while Kaushal Singh only managed to score 1 run.

Varun Aaron showed consolidation with a bat and scored 48 runs in a 98 run partnership with Gautam.

Jharkhand scored 387 runs were Suraj Yadav and Roshan raj took 3 wickets each while Saurabh Kumar and Sumit Singh managed to take a wicket each.

Services had scored 230 runs and Jharkhand managed 387 when play on day two ended.�
