Jamshedpur: A delegation members of the city-based outfit Shiksha Satyagrah met East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar on Monday to demand audit of all private schools in the city. Led by district BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand, they handed over a memorandum to the DC demanding action against private schools for ‘whimsically’ increasing fees.
During the meeting, Anand alleged that the private schools were exploiting parents and students by imposing exorbitant fees under various heads such as tuition fee, building development fee and salary hike for teachers. He said none of the schools was paying salaries to their teachers as per CBSE and ICSE norms.
Anand further demanded that the district administration should order an independent audit of all private schools and make the report public in the larger interest of people. He said the schools were forcing students and their parents to purchase books and uniforms from fixed dealers in order to line up their pockets. He said the DC has assured to take necessary action to fulfill the demands raised by Shiksha Satyagrah.
Among those present in the delegation included Appu Tiwary, Kumar Saurav, Rinku Sablok, Raju Gupta, Vivek Jaisawal, Praveen Prasad, Neeraj Dubey, Ravi Shankar and Nishant Mishra.
