Jamshedpur: Shekhar Dey, the partner of Sreeleathers and a prominent social worker of Steel City, hoisted the national flag at Bhalubasa Jormandir and The Milani in Bistupur on January 26 to mark the 77th Republic Day.
At the Bhalubasa Jormandir event, which was held under the “Glorious 2053” initiative, the birth anniversary of the great reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was also observed with deep respect. The proceedings began with a prayer session and the national anthem, followed by the offering of floral tributes to Vidyasagar’s portrait.

During the ceremony, winners of the 48th Drawing and Essay Competition were honored with mementos for their achievements. In his speech, Shekhar Dey spoke about Vidyasagar’s monumental contributions to education, social reform, and nation-building, calling them a lasting source of inspiration for everyone. The atmosphere was further enriched by musical performances and poetry recitations that captivated the audience.
Prior to this, Shekhar Dey hoisted the national flag at The Milani in Bistupur, where he emphasized the significance of Republic Day and the importance of constitutional values. The event was attended by various committee members and several distinguished citizens of Jamshedpur.
