Jamshedpur: The Sakchi area witnessed an overwhelming display of devotion and reverence in the early hours of Wednesday as the Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan, dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, along with Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Sati Das, and Bhai Diyala Ji, arrived at Deori Sahib on Kalimati Road at 3:15 am.

The Sikh congregation of Sakchi had remained awake throughout the night, waiting eagerly to welcome the Palki Sahib. Clad in saffron and spring-coloured turbans, and with dupattas covering their heads in reverence, the Sangat set aside sleep and fatigue to witness the divine sight. As soon as the Palki Sahib reached Deori Sahib, the entire atmosphere reverberated with spirited slogans of “Dhany Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Hind ki Chaadar – Dhany Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.”

The centre of attraction was Deori Sahib itself, resplendent under a cascade of flowers and bathed in milky light. A specially arranged flower shower machine added to the grandeur, symbolising the congregation’s deep faith. The sight was described as if nature itself was showering blessings on the holy occasion.

Pradhan Nishan Singh, along with committee members, offered a handkerchief with reverence to the Guru Granth Sahib seated in the Palki Sahib. Among the prominent members present were General Secretary Shamsher Singh Soni, Paramjit Singh Kale, Satinder Singh Romi, Satnam Singh Ghuman, Ajaib Singh, Balbir Singh Dhanjal, Sukhwinder Singh Nikku, Satpal Singh Raju, Surjit Singh Shitte, Balbir Singh, Daljit Singh, Trilochan Singh Tochi, Jaspal Singh Jasse and Nanak Singh. Women leaders, including Jatinderpal Kaur, head of Stree Satsang Sabha, and Raj Kaur, head of Shri Sukhmani Sahib Jatha, also joined the Sangat with their respective teams in the welcome.

Children, women, elderly and youth turned out in large numbers, reflecting the unity and spirit of devotion within the community. Despite the overnight vigil, not a single face showed fatigue—only joy and reverence for Guru Sahib radiated among the gathering.
Palki Sahib halted at Deori Sahib for about half an hour, during which the atmosphere remained filled with soulful kirtan, naam simran and prayers. Concluding the congregation, Pradhan Nishan Singh expressed gratitude to the Sangat and prayed, “May Guru Sahib continue to shower his blessings on the entire Sangat and the whole world. Blessed is Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Hind ki Chaadar.”
